American and Hybrid Wine Grape Varieties
* Indicates a newly added variety in limited quantities.

*Adalmiina (E. S. 6-16-30)
Golden grapes that make a French Muscadet style wine. Hardy to -30 and good disease resistance.
1yr $3.00 ea.

Cayuga White

A productive and disease-resistant variety, from the Cornell Experiment Station, with excellent cultural characteristics and a promising future.
1yr $2.75 ea. 2yr heavy $3.00 ea.

Chardonel
A cross between Seyval and Chardonnay that makes an excellent white wine. There is a royalty of $.50 ea. outside NY state, and $.35 ea. for NY state residents, to be paid to the Cornell Reseach Foundation.

Grafted on Couderc 3309 $3.75 ea.

Chambourcin
Produces a highly rated red wine. Vines are productive and may require cluster thinning.

Concord
A blue black dessert grape with slip skin and a fruity flavor.

*La crosse
A hardy white grape with Seyval Blanc like characteristics.

Leon Millot
Sister variety of Marechal Foch. An early ripening black grape that makes wine with a distinct berry aroma.

Marechal Foch
A very hardy early ripening small black grape that produces a very nice fruity red table wine.

             Frontenac                
An early ripening, extremely winter hardy and disease-resistant variety that has been successfully used to make Port wines. A $.25 per plant royalty is payable to the Minnesota Nursery Research Corporation.

           Norton (Cynthiana)
A native North American variety, with good disease-resistance and cold hardiness, that makes an excellent full bodied red wine.

Espirit
A white cold hardy Elmer Swenson selection that makes a light fruity wine and can also be used as a dessert grape.

*Prairie Star (E. S. 3-24-7)
An Elmer Swenson selection with excellent winter hardiness and makes a white wine with a floral nose and with good body and mouth feel.

*Swenson White (Espirit X Edelweiss)
Vigorous plant with good hardiness -30 that hangs well like Vidal Blanc having potential for making icewine.

                St. Pepin                
A Swenson cultvar and sibling of LaCrosse which is very cold hardy and makes a wine with Reisling characteristics. Needs cross pollination.

Traminette
Produces an excellent white wine with spicy quality.A Gewurztraminer hybrid that is much more winter hardy.

           Vidal Blanc            
A heavy producing white grape that has done well in making a late harvest dessert wine.

Vignoles
A white variety that needs more dsease control attention, but makes a very high quality dry or dessert wine.

Seedless Table Grape Varieties

Marquis
Formerly (NY64.0029.01) Has yellow-green large round berries that have a melting texture and are very flavorful. A  royalty of $.35 per plant in New York State and $.50 per plant outside New York State is paid to Cornell Research Foundation.

                Mars                      
A vigorous blue grape from the University of Arkansas with good cold hardiness and disease-resistance.

Reliance
A red seedless variety from the University of Arkansas.

            Vanessa                
A red dessert grape which is among the hardiest of seedless grapes.

Cornerll Research Foundation Varieties

'Corot noir'TM
Formerly (NY70.0809.10)
A 2006 release from Cornell Universities Geneva Experiment Station. A mid to late season red wine grape suitable for blending or production of varietal wines. It has deep red color with cherry and berry fruit aromas and a complete tannin structure

'Noiret'TM
Formerly (NY73.0136.17)
A 2006 release from Cornell Universities Geneva Experiment Station.  A mid-season red wine grape suitable for production of varietal wines.  The wine is richly colored with notes of green and black pepper along with raspberry, blackberry, and some mint aromas.  The tannin structure and the absence of any hybrid aromas strongly distinguish this selection from other red hybrid grapes.  Must sign a Cornell/Grape Growers Agreement and pay a royalty of $.85 per plant for New York State and $1.05 per plant outside New York State is paid to Cornell Research Foundation.

'Valvin Muscat'TM
Formerly (NY62.0122.01)

A 2006 release from Cornell Universities Geneva Experiment Station.   A mid-season white wine grape with distinct muscat flavor and no objectionable bitterness.  It is suitable for production of highly aromatic  varietal wines or for blending purposes.  Must sign a Cornell/Grape Growers Agreement and pay a royalty of $.85 per plant for New York State and $1.05 per plant outside New York State is paid to Cornell Research Foundation.
